When you start writing or editing a magazine or website you are often sent a link to a copy of their style book. Basically this is a list of how this particular organization prefers certain words, punctuation and grammar to appear in their work.
I say this because I remember that the style book of one of my first magazine jobs had a huge list of product names and among them was Band-Aid – the hyphen was an important part, and capitalization of course. I didn’t think anything of this until years later when I accidentally neglected to apply a hyphen to a Band-Aid and quickly received a lovely letter informing me of my mistake from some lawyers who represented them.
Anyway, I’m going out. Today’s game gave us a little in terms of sticky situations, though I’m cursed with a cloud of disappointment for not getting one this morning. As we know it is rarely as easy as a group to see as it was today.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by The New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually harder and purple is usually more difficult.
On the other hand, you don’t technically need to solve the last one, as you will be able to answer that one through the process of elimination. In addition, you can make four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
It’s a bit more involved than something like Wordle, however, and there’s more chance for the game to get bogged down with tricks. For example, watch out for homophones and other word games that can hide answers.
