Wakey, wakey friends, I’m fine. Kind of. I’m actually currently sitting in a golf cart, in stupid degree humidity, typing this on my iPad as my golf dad. Why he thinks it’s okay to play golf in the heat is beyond mebut here we go. I’m temporarily safe from getting out of this wagon to actually try to play with him as he has his little group of old men hanging out with him today and I’ve become their Caddy Mate. When did my father get old? Also, why is it so hot? And, again, Ariana Grande has a new perfume. Okay, let’s get into that because I have some thoughts.
Ariana Grande LOVENOTES Plush Vanilla Eau de Parfum is about to drop and I don’t see a purchase. Look how old I am about my perfume purchases. Are you proud? Tell me you are proud of me! Continue now. I’m listening. In short, Ari’s perfumes tend to be the ones that I don’t find safe for me as much as I tend to like them. Are they young? Yes. Am I an older woman looking for fun? And, yes. When Aria decided to release LoveNotes back in Fall 2024 the only thing on my mind was how do I capture all these Pokemon? Because here we had four different fragrances but only one was available in North America. Others are scattered around the world.
Each scent was a love letter to a different part of the world from Ariana expressing messages of joy, gratitude, and love. The US, Australia, UK, and all of Europe have received one special fragrance. Here in the US we found LOVENOTES Pink Woods Eau de Parfum which was a floral fragrance with notes of jasmine, tonka, and cashmere wood. I immediately bought it online without smelling it because I just love Ariana perfumes and I was sure I would like this. I didn’t. But it’s my fault as I’m a popular girl and this was a floral scent. That being said I thought it would be interesting at least. It wasn’t like that. It just smelled like linen and that’s not my bag.
Fast forward and Fall, my dear friends, is just around the corner and the drops are starting to happen! One of them is the new Love Notes Plush Vanilla Perfume. It is described as the older sister to Mod Vanilla which sounds promising. A warm, sweet gourmand that ticks all the boxes for me with key notes of vanilla macaron, cashmere wood, and amber crystals along with orange blossom, sugary petals, and warm amber. The only problem is that they contradict themselves in the marketing and keep saying soft, fluffy, playful vanilla like hey, how can Mod Vanilla’s sister be playful and soft when Mod Vanilla is already a cute and sweet girl and Plush Vanilla should be black. Hmmmmm!
Is it safe to buy blind? Probably not. So far, LoveNotes has proven to be a little disappointing with that initial launch, so, I’m practicing caution when using Lovenotes Plush Vanilla! What about you? Are you a fan of the original release and excited for the new one?
