Top 5 Perfect Leggings Outfits for 2026 and Beyond

As a fashion designer who believes in comfort and style it can be coexist, leggings are a staple in my capsule wardrobe. What are you looking for? Well, they’re too comfortable to stop. Despite my love for stovepipe jeans or tailored trousers, there’s honestly nothing like stepping into a simple pair of leggings, and according to the fashion crowd in 2026, they’ve never been more popular.
While leggings were once considered too casual to be worn outside of the gym or your yoga class (or if you’re Jil Sander, who said, in 2011, “If I had the power, I’d ban leggings”), long gone are the days when the only options were kaleidoscopic colors and loud patterns. Modern leggings are thin on Lisa Rinna and Jane Fonda during their VHS-tape ’80s-workout eras, and very minimal basics.
As fashion moves around and nothing goes out of style, leggings have quickly become a permanent item in the most fashionable rotation. Loved for their durability while providing instant polish, editors, influencers and celebrities alike have proven over the past few years that with the right style, leggings can look incredibly chic—and look good. From Hailey Bieber’s stirrup to Simone Ashley’s cropped capris (and of course, Claudia Winkleman’s full-length Spanx), an outfit with leggings has never been so fun.

For spring/summer 2026, designers are championing the return of leggings, and the runways were full of every style, style and print imaginable. From a soft pair of cream-like trouser-like embellished pants with squared off at Dior, to a striped iteration worn with an embroidered polo and finished with trendy Ugg Zora flats at Talia Byre, the designers prove that even basic sweaters have the power to elevate. So, since spring is just around the corner, easy and simple outfits for leggings could not come in time.
After digging deep into my social media feed, I found five looks that feel perfect for the upcoming season. Keep scrolling to find them below.
1. Capri Leggings + Leather Jacket + IV-Neck Jumper
Style Notes: As we slowly but surely enter spring, why not give capris a go? With a nostalgic ’90s feel, this cropped silhouette is loved by Gen Z. Adding kitten heels in a classic French style, Anne Laure Mais accessorizes her capris with a V-neck jumper and a cropped leather jacket.

2. Ankle-Length Leggings + Cropped Jacket + Heels
Style Notes: There will always be a time and place for full-length leggings, but 7/8 styles have quickly become a trend for fashionistas. Just take Marilyn NK’s look, for example. Keeping her base neutral and finishing with a funnel neck jacket, she enhances her slightly shorter leggings with high-end accessories like a pillbox hat and a top handle bag. This outfit has all the earmarks to make it onto the best-dressed list of 2026.

3. Stirrup Leggings + Trench Coat + Jumper
Style Notes: If there’s one thing that can always elevate leggings, it’s pointed ballet flats. Instead of sporty trainers, they give a relaxed piece more polish, and Coco Schiffer’s loose jumper with a sweeping trench looks undeniably chic when finished with stirrup leggings and a bag to throw everything in and go.

Style Notes: Leggings and trainers are like spring flowers: an eternal fail-safe. Where chunkier iterations can leave your outfit feeling flimsy, a trendy slimline pair will transform your look into 2026’s current state. Add a pop of color to your socks and finish with the desired funnel neck coat for an effortless daytime look.
