Leaked Samsung Galaxy S26 prices may surprise you – the Ultra is affordable, but the standard S26 goes up

Quick Summary
The Samsung Galaxy S26 may be more expensive compared to the Galaxy S25, but the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be cheaper than the S25 Ultra.
This is thought to be due to the increase in RAM and storage prices on newer devices.
Samsung may have to adjust the prices of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 models to cope with the rising cost of components – such as RAM and SSD storage. But there may be a twist here: the flagship Galaxy S26 UItra may be more affordable.
That could see the price of the entry-level Galaxy S26 rise, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra becomes surprisingly cheaper. That could see consumers turning to flagship models rather than lower-spec devices, and for Samsung it means higher-priced devices are seen as better value.
Although this is not confirmed – we still don’t have an official date for the Galaxy Unpacked – this information has emerged thanks to a price leak in Sweden, shared by WinFuture. We need to consider that Sweden is usually expensive, but the position of different devices may be seen in different regions.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S26 series phones cost?
Samsung is said to be dropping the 128GB option that was available on the Galaxy S25, so that means 256GB will be the norm, which means prices are naturally higher.
The starting price of the Galaxy S26 256GB is reported to be 11,990SEK (about £940 / €1,130 / $1,350), which is significantly higher than the Galaxy S25 256GB which comes in at £859 / €869 / $859.
That said, the standard Galaxy S has been good value for money so far. The Galaxy S26+ – according to the leaked details – will not be subject to the same changes, sticking to the prices of the Galaxy S25+.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, therefore, could be where you are most surprised: according to the leak, Samsung may lower the price of this device. In Sweden, it is said that the price of the 256GB model will drop from 17,990SEK to 16,990SEK. That’s around £80 / €95 / $110 using a quick conversion.
That would see the Samsung flagship phone start at £1,149 / €1,199 / $1,199, which looks like an attractive price. That follows the 512GB version, but the 1TB model is said to be the same price as the Galaxy S25 Ultra in that size.
The source also notes that Samsung may drop one of its popular ads with the launch of these devices. In the past we have seen “double storage” for those who pre-order phones or when they buy early in their lifecycle. It is reported that this incentive may be reduced, as an indication of the increase in the price of storage space.
We expect Galaxy Unpacked to take place on February 25, but Samsung is yet to confirm this.
