Alexa Chung Recently Wore a Chic Fringe Dress with Heels in Paris

In case you haven’t noticed, the best-dressed people in the world are currently in Paris, whether it’s because they live there year-round or just stop by for a Haute Couture Week show or two. One of these talented dressers is Alexa Chung, who attended the Bulgari event in the City of Lights in a dress that made little black dresses look nothing. They’re timeless, yes, but sometimes, classic just doesn’t cut it. Maximalism is back with a vengeance in 2026, and if dressing like the most beautiful women in Paris is high on your list of priorities this year, I suggest you follow Chung’s lead by ditching basic clothes. Instead, try her favorite style on for size.

The dress code in question? Hem dresses. Specifically, the British It girl chose an ivory dress from Anna’s October 2026 pre-fall collection, which has yet to be released. The dress features a subtle and elegant jacquard print and a long, silky fringe at its hem and cape. The brilliant fabric and details feel like a nod to French history, from the days when Marie Antoinette led the rococo style movement that was filled with the same soft colors, soft materials, and lavish decorations. Her evening look wasn’t all loud and bold, however. On her feet, Chung kept it simple, wearing sleek black pumps that let her outfit be the star of the show.

It should come as no surprise that clothes like Chung’s are trending in the world’s most stylish city. The Fringe, in general, has been a long time in the making. Suede and leather fringe dresses reigned supreme this past fall, and tassel-fringed scarves are gaining popularity ahead of the long-awaited arrival of spring. This is basically the year of the fringe, and clothes will not be left without movement.
