Tan France first captured our hearts and screens as a fashion expert on Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” and finally, “Next in Fashion,” put her in the spotlight as a respected figure in the industry. This season, the French retailer produced its “Give Something Beautiful” campaign, featuring France as a trusted source to help beauty lovers deal with the chaos that holiday gift shopping can bring. “I get asked so, so often about my holiday gift ideas, so this was a perfect fit for me, and I love Sephora for giving,” France tells Popsugar. “The part I enjoyed the most was my friends and family seeing my holiday ads. The way they reacted brought me so much joy.”

Born and raised in Doncaster, England, France used to enjoy watching her mother apply turmeric to her face every few weeks for its healing properties. This set the tone for her sophisticated skin care routine, which is often asked what makes her skin beautiful (hello, Tata Harper). He also emphasizes that there is no such thing as perfect skin or a product that guarantees it. “We are all different and our skin is different for us,” he said. “It’s important to find the kind of beauty and beauty products that work for us personally.” In France, that often means not bothering.
