Tan France Beauty Gifts and Holiday Shopping

Tan France first captured our hearts and screens as a fashion expert on Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” and finally, “Next in Fashion,” put her in the spotlight as a respected figure in the industry. She has also worked as a designer and director for the likes of Zara and Selfridges, which proves she knows a thing or two about taste. Naturally, she’s become an honest voice on beauty, even making a documentary, “Beauty and the Bleach,” in which she explores the diversity of color and her experiences with bleaching. One of his latest magic tricks? Partnering with Sephora.
This season, the French retailer produced its “Give Something Beautiful” campaign, featuring France as a trusted source to help beauty lovers deal with the chaos that holiday gift shopping can bring. “I get asked so, so often about my holiday gift ideas, so this was a perfect fit for me, and I love Sephora for giving,” France tells Popsugar. “The part I enjoyed the most was my friends and family seeing my holiday ads. The way they reacted brought me so much joy.”
Born and raised in Doncaster, England, France used to enjoy watching her mother apply turmeric to her face every few weeks for its healing properties. This set the tone for her sophisticated skin care routine, which is often asked what makes her skin beautiful (hello, Tata Harper). He also emphasizes that there is no such thing as perfect skin or a product that guarantees it. “We are all different and our skin is different for us,” he said. “It’s important to find the kind of beauty and beauty products that work for us personally.” In France, that often means not bothering.
Fashionistas apply this attitude to gift shopping at Sephora. “Go with something that you feel confident the recipient doesn’t have, but that is personal to them and that you know will actually be used,” he says. The high-end beauty destination is notorious for its gift sets, of which France is a big fan. If she can make her own, it would be a pampering kit, which includes Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit Cologne ($170), Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask and Moisturizer ($49), Summer Fridays Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist ($21), Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Shampoo No. ($64), Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum ($82), Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($48), and Laniege Lip Glowy Balm ($19). Although she recommends hyaluronic acid serum as a gift that won’t work for almost anyone.
